Rheumatology is often a misunderstood field in India and patients suffer due to lack of knowledge and resultant inability of informed decision making. It's almost impossible for busy rheumatologists in clinics to counsel patients about these diseases, their complex & at times expensive treatments, leading to a high degree of patient mistrust, fallout and suffering.
